Why are red pandas tracked?

Why is the red pandas endangered?
Red pandas areendangeredprimarily due to habitat loss as a result of human development and livestock herding. Other contributing factors include free-roaming dogs, disease, poaching, illegal wildlife trade, lack of available food (bamboo), and climate change. Increased frequency of droughts, snowfall, and flooding is causing shifting vegetation zones and unreliable habitat availability.
How many red pandas are left in the world?
There may beas few as 2,500 red pandasleft in the wild, a 50% decline in the last two decades.
Where does the red panda live?
Red pandas live inhigh-altitudeforests in Nepal, Bhutan, India, China, the southern edge of the Himalayas in Myanmar, and nearby mountains farther east.
What species is a red panda?
The red panda is a mammal and the only member of its own evolutionary lineage! Though not related, they do share common traits with raccoons, weasels, and skunks.
How long does a red panda live?
Red pandas typically live for 8–10 years in the wild with some reaching as many as 15 years of age. In captivity, red pandas have even lived into their 20s!
